Master of Philosophy

The Master of Philosophy offers an alternative to Honours for students wanting to go on with their university studies. Australian domestic students get:

  • A better qualification
  • More time to complete a research thesis
  • No HECS fees to pay

What are the requirements?

  • All students must take four courses in addition to a research thesis
  • One of the course is mandatory - Research Techniques (BABS7180)
  • The three other courses are a matter of discussion between supervisor, postgraduate coordinator and the student as to which three courses would be the most appropriate from the spectrum of third level or postgraduate courses available at UNSW

  • Remember that although the degree is in BABS it is possible to undertake the degree with The Australian Centre for Astrobiology. Courses appropriate to the area of study will be selected
